T-mobile MyTouch App Pack Ready To Roll

July 23rd, 2009

Right after the “official” of the MyTouch3G word came from that they would be pushing the AppPak. is hoping to push the Android market hard with the sale of the MyTouch3G with apps such as Sherpa, which has seen a large push from magenta land. Other included apps are some of ’s own with their Mobile Backup and MyAccount offerings also being pushed to customers.   We’ll be finding out soon enough as it seems the AppPak has leaked a little earlier thanks to an email circulating.   employees, who have been “Championing” a MyTouch3G for a few weeks now have provided the internet with the necessary links to get up and running with the AppPak. Rumors still give hope for G1 availability, but even if has a change of heart, not, the internet always finds a way.

Best Buy To Pre-Sell MyTouch3G

July 14th, 2009

MyTouch-BB-Flyer

Looks like won’t be the only one on the block offering up the flagship MyTouch3G for presale. Best Buy is going to join the ranks of the pre-sale starting now! With hoping to kick MyTouch3G sales beyond the ranks of the G1 using every available outlet for sales surely will help them achieve that goal. Details are still a little sparse on this particular bit of info but from the emails I got one can obviously tell from the image above that a $50 will be required for pre-sale but here is the kicker, apparently the device will be available in both Merlot and Ice, so you black MyTouch3G lovers will want to sit this one out. It looks as though your deposit will be placed on a $50 dollar gift card which can then be applied to the purchase price on the day you pick up the phone. You will need the above flyer completed and the sales receipt from the gift card on the day you pick up the device and orders are filled in the order in which they are received. Pretty standard stuff really. Unfortunately, there isn’t a Best Buy around me for miles and miles and miles that sells so even if this was the course I decided to go, I couldn’t. I still have yet to ascertain why isn’t sold in every Best Buy, anyone have an answer for this, let me know in the comments!

News Flash, T-mobile Hopes To Sell More MyTouch Than G1

July 14th, 2009

According to the fine folks at the Journal, CTO Cole Brodman, speaking at yesterdays MyTouch3G press event made the headline claim. Why this is even news is really beyond me, is it not the point to sell more of a of something than the first?  Claiming the broader appeal of the MyTouch, Brodman believes most customers will be new to Android in general. I’m sure he is hoping that ’s low price offerings will be their counterpunch to the industry but I they are to late to the with the MyTouch and that its really more uphill than they want to publicly admit. Either way, my support for is unwavering and I want to believe the MyTouch is going to be big, very big and can draw customers who are simply fed up with AT&T troubles over to the Magenta side.

Facebook on the Android????

July 11th, 2009

Android - facebookEasily one of the most popular on the smartphone block and perhaps the one most notably absent from the Android is Facebook. Our over at Android and Me came across the above screen shot taken from the MyTouch product page. While Facebook has publicly stated no intentions to build a Facebook app this purported picture has yet to signal a change in their thinking. However, we like to think positively and can only hope, surely to this of several Android developers that an official app is on its way.

Getting your T-mobile Android G1 to use the $5.99 T-MobileWeb

February 11th, 2009

There are various reasons why you’d do this, and with letting you get it without a contract you might want to try to make it work with T-mobileWeb for only $5.99

First here are the basic settings:
Menu->Settings->Wireless Controls->Mobile Networks->Access Point -> US
I input the following settings:
Name: US
APN: wap.voicestream.com
proxy: 216.155.165.050
port: 8080
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: unchanged from original (http://.msg.eng..com//wapenc)
Proxy: 216.155.165.050
Port: 8080
MMC: unchanged (for me it was 310, I believe it is based on your location)
MNC: unchanged (for me it was 260, I believe it is based on your location)
APN type: Not set

Here are the comments from the original commenter about what WORKS, and what doesn’t.
- should work
- Gmail push will not work
- POP3 and IMAP will work (so gmail will work through that way)
- Google doesn’t work
- And Android Market DOES NOT seem to work.

For the apps that don’t work you can usually use them when you’re in the wifi network (well not , but you get the idea)
